| 394708 | 2005-10-09 08:24:00 | After a little dissatisfaction with Telstra and their excess usage on there broadband plans and their insistance on having to rent a cable modem off them, I went looking for a better deal I contacted Telecom and looked at getting my phone, internet and t.v service through them and sky, but couldn't be bothered with the hassle of changing phone numbers So I went onto the Telstra website and looked at there adsl plans which anoyed me even more, how can a company justif charging excess usage on the cable network when they own it and be able to throttle back on the adsl plans which I believe they wholesale off Telecom . So I rang Telstra with my gripe, I have been a long time customer with them, I had there TV service before they did phone back in the Saturn days.. Anyway they have stopped charging me cable rental and have given me a deal on the 10gig plan I just couldn't refuse So I say good on you Telstraclear...Looks like you have my loyal patronage for a few more years yet |

| 394711 | 2005-10-09 10:54:00 | I was on the 1gig triple package which is $112.85 and getting the 10gig for $121.85. I was continueing paying between $10 and $20 xtra a month for excess, so it's going to work out cheaper, plus it's 10Mbps instead of 2Mbps down and 1Mbps instead of 512Kpbs up :thumbs: | plod (107) | ||
| 394712 | 2005-10-09 18:04:00 | Nice one :) When I signed up I objected to their modem rental policy, it was $10pm and the modems only cost about $90. So they discounted my account for the first year, by $10per month as that was the only way i would sign with them. So they are open to negotiation. BTW I have never seen the 2mbps download speed, the highest I have had has been about 800bps , but I am not complaining :) |
