I remember reading it ages ago, so I hunted it down with Google.
It's here (egomania.nu)

Never seen that bit in the middle before, though, about Excel.

Anyone have Excel 95 lying around?

396259 2005-10-17 03:58:00 The Internet also bears the sign. Note that the Internet is also commonly known as the World Wide Web or WWW. One other way we write W is V/ (VI) so:

Dunno how you came to the conclusion that V/ looks even vaguely like a W, ooo wait, unless you cross your eyes (must be one of those magic picture things)

What if the WWW is the 666? Or Bill Gates the Beast? What will you do??

Ya, and what if Y2k really happened? I am inclined to believe that Moses forgot to add the words "once upon a time....." at the start of the bible.

Your quote from revelation states "he forced everyone", and I very much doubt Bill the Beast will still be round once everyone owns a computer and more doubtful he'll still be here before 3rd world countries gain access to the internet. Nice try.

Dreams are free, unfortunately the internet is not! Better start sponsoring lots of $1 per day kids so they can get their computers

396260 2005-10-17 04:08:00 Guess I should have put quotation marks around the whole thing, to indicate that they're not my words.

You're right. What the hell is V/ ?

Sorry. Can't afford to sponsor a kid for only $1 a day.
Too busy spending my money on my Nigerian mates.

:p

396262 2005-10-17 22:17:00 Our history has allways been cursed with the ignorant masses . In an effort to explain the concepts of good and evil to the masses, it was nessessary to personify the concepts . Thus we created "God" and "Devil" . As a result of this God, and Devil are very real . They live in our collective thoughts, our communications, our understanding of how the world works .

God's work is very real, it is the collective energy of those who choose to do good in this world . Personifying good helps us to avoid problems with modesty . It is indeed easier to say we are on a mission for God, than to except that we are just plain nice people, or understand that many acheivements are the result of collective possitive efforts!

Good post Personthingy . Another possibility is that God is the cumulative conciousness of all living things in the universe .

Some human illnesses such as stress, high blood pressure, and depression can be caused by psychological conflict . This arises because the person has done something which they believe to be wrong and they cannot resolve this .

Having a personal belief in God/Allah/etc has a benefit for the individual and society . Most of us have a moral code (conscience) which forbids lying, cheating, and harming others . We may fall down at times but at least try .

The benefit of believing in an omniscient God is that s/he knows what you are doing at all times . Thus when you are tempted to tell a lie or steal something, knowing you won't get caught, nevertheless you also know that God can see this . And you'll know that you have done wrong .

Thus your actions are continually tested against your conscience . This leads to better behaviour both in the personal sense and the community sense .

It is argued that the "breakdown" of society is because young people have not learned to develop a conscience . Religions in all societies present a set of rules which help develop a conscience .

396263 2005-10-17 23:07:00 Another possibility is that God is the cumulative conciousness of all living things in the universe . Thats kinda what i was getting at . . I fully believe that there is far more force in life and conciousness, be it cumulative or otherwise than we give credit . What saddens me is the need to "explain" these forces overiding the ability to admit that they are more than we are yet capable of understanding as mere individuals .

Of course another saddening thing about human understanding, or lack of, is when we wage war or commit other sadistic acts in the name of "God"

Also, i wonder why the creationist and evolutionart theries are seen as mutually exclusive? If we were created, then surely time would then allow us to only continue with whatever was sustainable, or in otherwords, adapt or evolve?
