| 397457 | 2005-10-20 07:48:00 | Why worry about "is it bad for me"? Eat what you enjoy. 90% of my cooking is done in the frying pan, with butter or fat. None of this fancy oil stuff. When I was a boy olive oil was a medicine. PS the other 10% is done in the microwave. |

Deep-fried ice-cream is also a must - can be found at most Denny's restaurants, last time I checked. Also, deep-fried banana (great with whipped cream). Got a deep-fryer from a friend a few years back and decided to experiment a bit. Results below: 8.00pm - Deep-fried Pinky(tm) Bar: Nice and gooey, but not enough consistency - fell apart upon exit from fryer 8.30pm - Deep-fried Caramello Bar: Very rich and chocolatey, but lost form due to excessive heat. 9.00pm - Deep-fried Crunchie(tm) Bar: Too hard 9.08pm - By this stage, too sick to carry on, and haven't been game to attempt further experiments. Conclusion: Moro/Mars bar best bar to fry, held together by caramel/fudge quality. Lizard |

I have been told that the Scots are quite partial to deep fried battered food (well, you need lots of fat in a cold climate), and that you can even buy deep fried pizzas in Scotland. Now I can sort of understand deep fried battered Mars bars, but deep fried pizzas? :waughh: |

| 397464 | 2005-10-21 04:42:00 | Deep fried porridge, deep fried haggis, deep fried whisky ...? I think the idea is that eating deep fried battered food puts a non absorbent layer on the stomach so you can drink more malt without falling over too soon. Yum. Och aye the noo. |
