397164	2005-10-18 00:11:00	Cig filters (butts to some of you) are biodegradeable. So dropping them on the ground may be an eyesore to some, but they don't harm the environment. As for smoking itself, get real - it's good for people. It is anti-carconegenic; creates a healthy barrier to germs that can infect the lungs; does wonders for the anti-social stygma that can affect some people; provides untold minerals that other ingestive products can't provide; and best of all, it's completely vegetarian. Think about it... tobacco can't be eaten or drank - so smoking it is entirely natural! :D :thumbs:	Greg (193)

Examples of these smoke-free streets could be Queen St in Auckland City, Cuba Street in Wellington City, Ponsonby Rd in Ponsonby, and Hurstmere St in Takapuna. They - sorry for using pronoun which may confused you. They = those people that smoke and then rather than walk to the rubbish will drop it on the ground. I would put money that all smokers have some time or another thrown a ciggie butt on the ground. Tell me it aint so. I doubt it. Oh yes - good for you for editing my post and not adding the part where I said those other lazy individuals that drop litter as well. THEY are lazy people who cant be bothered finding a rubbish bin. Ciggie butts are ONLY dropped by smokers.	sam m (517)
397168	2005-10-18 03:39:00	The car you drive probably emits more carbon monoxide and other 'life threatening chemicals' into the air in a second than someone standing outside having a smoke. I suggest we ban cars from being driven near walkways as well... or even on roadways. Disagree. Driving a car is mainly for transportation purpose, of which is important in today's life. I also hate the smell of hamburgers so please make McDonalds keep the smell off the street I also hate the smell of petrol fumes so keep cars off the street. You are not the only one with rights Majority speaks, JJJJJ. I don't suppose there are a lot of people who hate the smell of hamburgers and meat pie etc.? Can you dispute the claim "I also hate the sight of humans, just can't stand them...". 397171	2005-10-18 04:27:00	Consession is one thing, but no smoking on the streets is rediculous! I'm a born again non smoker. I can't stand the smell of it... I don't want to share my space, such as my office with smokers.. That is my choice. Same with my twuck or my bed. However, people have the right to smoke, and if they are doing it in an open space, or thier own space, who am i to deny them? People may suicide if they so choose, and as long as they don't do it in a confined space, and thus take me with them, i have no problem with anyones smoking habits.
