The smoking laws now are entirely stupid though and most non-smokers I know would prefer the laws to be back how they were. What a sensible chap you are Jeremy. The paranoia of these people is beyond me. :) |

I tell you, the smell and pollution made there is far worse than what any smoker makes FAR WORSE! Especially when the exhaust pipe is pointed towards the footpaths :yuck: And if someone wants to die early. LET THEM! Its their choice NOT OURS! :2Cents: *bob_doe_nz gets out a packet of marshmallows just in case. :p |

HAsn't done much to change my view that most people are stupid and quite happy to have a closed mind . |

Just because you impulsively suck on those foul sticks all day dosen't mean the rest of us have to suffer. Do it in your home where noone cares And I suppose you are one of those people who walk down the street eating a meat pie. I hate the smell of them, so please eat it at home. I also hate the smell of hamburgers so please make McDonalds keep the smell off the street I also hate the smell of petrol fumes so keep cars off the street. You are not the only one with rights |

| 397158 | 2005-10-17 20:57:00 | Some people seem to feel they must be anti something. Some oldies may remember when the popular cause was alchahol. You lost that one. So now it's tobacco. You won't win this time either. Unfortunately the only losers are publicans, restraunts etc. I won't go into a pub now and I've stopped eating out. So I'm saving even more money for smokes. |

| 397159 | 2005-10-17 21:04:00 | My :2cents: : It's not the issue of whether you're annoying non-smokers, it's whether or not we can get away from it. Someone brought up the issue of bus stops. Thats one of the main place where us non-smokers cant escape. We cant exactly walk away; we want to catch the bus too. Pubs; if we dont like it, we can drink at home. JJJJJ: examples of hamburgers etc are only valid if youre stuck in that environment. |

| 397160 | 2005-10-17 22:10:00 | I agree with the title of this thread however not because of the 2nd hand smoke they emit. I simply walk past holding my breath or take a wide berth, easy fix. What I dont understand is why they have to drop their ciggie butts on the ground. To me the aftermath of ciggie butts all over the ground is just laziness. I am often tempted when sitting behind a car (at traffic lights) where the driver drops a ciggie butt out the window to walk over pick it up and throw it back in their car. Smoking is not an excuse for laziness, is it? Yes there is plenty of other rubbish out there but that is left by an unspecific lazy group - ciggie butts litter is the realm of smokers only. |

| 397162 | 2005-10-17 23:00:00 | You could always get one of these. (imagef1.x10hosting.com) Yeah, that was part of the Greens policy; to supply one of these for every smoker (except smokers of "medicinal" cigarettes, of course). Unfortunately, that's just a dream now. :D |
