Check out our ebay out, www.trademe.co.nz
Check out new laptops from www.pricespy.co.nz and have a look a the extra RAM and the extra 2.5 inch laptop hard drives.

Now its about $1US is under $1.40NZ.

I have a P3 laptop the only reason I am still using it is because I am only able to get $200US or not more for it. So I will use it now and if I get a new PC I will use this laptop as my portable hard drive to stroe photos.

If you sell it to me, I will have to pay 12.5% import tax before NZ Customs will release the goods to me. In other words they send it to me only after they get the money. Yes, I have bought a USA laptop from eBay and yes I had to pay tax, if not they would just send the item back to the seller if the seller paid or if not they would of just destroyed the item after some time.

To ship a laptop it probably cost around $70USD. This is via USPS.

And who in their right mind would pay a stranger over the internet with someone who just opened a new account with no positive feedback. And add the 2 week delivery time approx and then pay taxation.

At this moment, if it is $400NZ tax is chargeable becos 12.5% of that equals $50NZ. This $400 I think includes the delivery charge as well of the shipment. $400NZ is about $250US.

396123 2005-10-16 03:40:00 where are you getting your book value from i would like to gander at this info myself.and as for the 400 usd hahahahaha thats pretty funny pentium 3 laptops are going for that i would love to see a pentium 4 laptop for that price if so i would buy a butt load of them and sell them for 100 USD more and make a nice profit.

So why can't you sell your laptop or notebook then?
Any of these things are only worth what people will in fact pay.

396124 2005-10-16 09:23:00 ok so i have decided to lower the cost of the laptop to 550 USD and buyer pay shipping and tax if applicable and on the note of being a stranger on the internet i have offered to do the transaction through ebay or escrow.com so there will be no fraud worries i believe that asking 550 USD buyer pays shipping is fair and my friend who has a pc buisness said that it is well worth the 700 USD and it will sell for sure at 550.elephant who ever said i couldnt sell it?i am trying to sell it.and as of yet i have a few people interested here in the states for the 700 USD priced but i figure it will sell faster at 550 and of course it will.i have decided to go that low because that is all i need to add to the money i have saved to get the desktop i want! 396125 2005-10-16 09:50:00 Hi ChrisB - your post leaves a worrying taste in the mouth. You have come a long way to flog off the machine and its price is dropping rapidly. Thanks but no thanks. Are you by any chance related to the host of ChrisBs that a Google on ChrisB laptop sale brings up? Scouse (83)

396129 2005-10-16 21:40:00 Hi ChrisB. why would you worry?. Well......

Safeware, the largest insurer of personal computers in the United States, paid claims for the theft of 319,000 laptop computers during 1999.1 Of course, most laptops are not insured, so this is only a small fraction of the total number of laptop computers that were stolen during that year.

You're in the US of A.
You're flogging off a laptop.
You're offering to flog it off halfway around the world from home.
You dropped the price over $100 US in the time it took to ask a few questions.
Not worried really. Just an interested onlooker. Good luck. :2cents:

396130 2005-10-17 10:47:00 well i dont think if i stole it i would'nt be trying to sell it online i would sell it to a local pawn shop or local buyer for 1.for 2 people sell item half way around the world all the time check out ebay.its almost like your accusing me of it being stolen.the fact is i bought this laptop from a friend a year ago for college work and i dont need it anymore.so im selling it for 550 when i bought it for 850.now i know its hard to trust people online i had doubts when i bought a hard drive for this from ebay but its not as worrisome as you are making it i would be willing to give you any info you may need to feel better including serial # so you may check the transfer of ownership and i would talk to you on the phone if necessary.but no worries as i have had offers on this machine allready so it will be sold soon enuf and without worry as i will do the transaction on a legit site for the purpose of eliminating fraud.and flogging off a laptop sounds really bad.is that just a word for selling something.i mean you make it sound as if its a sin to sell my laptop online. ;) ChrisB (9069)
