674002 2008-05-31 00:24:00 So whats the folder in the pic you posted??

It looks like you've got the GTA mods. Obviously, this isnt the original folder with the game in it. If nothing is installed, just do what I said in the previous post.

Delete the entry in ccleaner, then delete the folders if San Andreas isnt
installed

Then use ccleaner's registry cleaner to remove it

674003 2008-05-31 00:48:00 from what ive been told,
gta used to be installed with mods

instead of uninstalling gta with the uninstaller, he just deleted the files
he wanted to reinstall gta, when we open the iso in daemon tools
and try to install it we get this screen

>>>img47.imageshack.us

so i thought gta was still installed at this point,

so i pressed uninstall and it came up with this error

>>>>img47.imageshack.us

you then allerted me that this is because the file did not exist,

i did a search for rockstar games
because this is the developers and what the game is installed under

c:\program files\Rockstar games

that search came up with theses results

when i go into the properties of one of the items in the search ,
to find out the game directory witch is

c:\program files\Rockstar games

>>>img67.imageshack.us

i then look for the game directory in program files
and nothing is there, no rockstar games folder

>>>img261.imageshack.us

so if i search for the folder rockstar games, it thinks it exists, but when i look for it, its not there, so it thinks that its there but its not, :S
/me confuses his self

so i was thinking that there is some data somewere that makes the computer think it still exists

all i want to do at the moment is reinstall gta san andreas but it thinks its installled still when i run the iso

674004 2008-05-31 00:55:00 ok all i can say is
THANK YOU SO MUCH for the help you have provided

i think i may have sorted it,

instead of trying to install it from the user interface
i browsed the iso and ran the setup from there, i think this will work,
i hope so

once again thank you very much for your time and efforts
i will get back to you on how it works out

674005 2008-05-31 01:08:00 Well if he deleted the files (without uninstalling it) thats why that error appeared.

Because the file you need to uninstall it with has been deleted / doesnt exist.
