So if you had a 32mb onboard graphics, why isnt the maximum 4064mb?

Google 32 vs. 64 bit memory addressing. Or put 2x^32 into a calculator and see how many bytes you get.

673476 2008-05-28 23:02:00 Give us a model no.

As said it may be a 32bit address limit (actually its a software limit as well). What you COULD do is create a ram drive using this unused space and use it as a fast HDD (only 1GB though :p). A good use would be your pagedisk so your HDD does less work and your computer runs faster. To use it as a ramdisk, Windows would have to see it - which it can't.

673477 2008-05-28 23:37:00 Windows 32bit will only ever see 3 gigs, maximum. I wouldn't worry about it.

Incorrect mate....3.5Gb or thereabouts, however use PAE you can use the entire 4Gb

To enable PAE, use the /PAE switch in the Boot.ini file. To disable PAE, use the /NOPAE switch.

Does that work for XP or just Vista?

673479 2008-05-29 00:07:00 Looks like the /pae switch can be used in XP/2003 as well Speedy Gonzales (78)

673481 2008-05-29 00:42:00 Looks like the /pae switch can be used in XP/2003 as wellAnd it seems to do more or less nothing - I have PAE enabled on a machine with 4GB ram here, and it makes no difference to what Windows XP can see (a little over 3GB). Linux (64bit) sees it all. Erayd (23)
673482 2008-05-29 00:49:00 Well as already said 32 bit wont see all of 4GB Speedy Gonzales (78)

Oh well that sucks. Use PAE then ram disk it?
