397037 2005-10-17 23:21:00 The show is a con. I mean, if a 300+ pound guy with long hair calling himself “Meatloaf” turned up & for his audition sang about a bat flying out of hell, the judges would have p****d themselves laughing.
I do however feel sorry for Rosita, apart from Bridge under trobuled water, what else has Clay done (Clay who??) etc etc

397038 2005-10-17 23:27:00 Feel sorry for her?

I'm sure she has had the time of her life.

Though lets hope she realises that the momentem created by these televised talent quests runs out after 3 days.....

The sad thing is we'll probably still not have anything greater than NZ Idol to replace the program in that timeslot either :-( Lucky I don't watch TV much.

Whoa . :groan: Meatloaf was an accomplished singer long before that album . He played Eddie in The Rocky Horror Picture Show film . He'd have scored .

And Pavarotti who is no slim jim would have done well too .

Rosita studied opera singing for 3 years which is why she has such ability . Whether that makes her a viable pop star is quite another matter .

Good luck to her .

397043 2005-10-18 07:34:00 Needs more than a good voice to succeed in this game,if she is about in 12 months I will be quite surprised.
The Scottish girl who had a song about train rides, she had a good voice, she lasted about two years and there are dozens more one can think of.

397044 2005-10-18 07:53:00 Meatloaf also done the vocals for an early Ted Nugent album (dog eat dog) before Bat out of Hell was even written (which itself was a stage show about Peter Pan if you can believe it)

Go the Loaf

Then I’m dying at the bottom of a pit in the blazing sun
Torn and twisted at the foot of a burning bike
And I think somebody somewhere must be tolling a bell
And the last thing I see is my heart
Still beating
Still beating
Breaking out of my body and flying away
Like a bat out of hell
Like a bat out of hell
Like a bat out of hell
