396067 2005-10-16 04:14:00 I'd love to see Tim Shadbolt in it. Wonder if he still has that big goofy smile in it that we all come to know. :D bob_doe_nz (92)

396069 2005-10-16 09:34:00 Thanks for killing the ending wetzyl, jk.

Don't worry Sal. Its not a thriller that can be ruined by knowing the story. Even if you know the details of what happens, you would still love it.

A friend of mine saw "The World's Fastest Indian" in ChCh last week and he said it was the first time ever that he experienced the audience breaking out into spontaneous applause at the end.

And evidently at the Toronto Film Festival the audience gave it a standing ovation!!!

My wife is taking her 84 yr old father to see it this week. He never sees films anymore but when he heard what it was about, he agreed to go.

did you know he'd been on fair go for ripping off old ladies, when he was a concrete contractor - he took the money & never did the job, long time ago...
and his son was caught for not paying for petrol ...
anyway, just stirring... he'd ripped off an old family member...

396073 2005-10-23 19:04:00 What an impressive perfomance by Anthony Hopkins. Deserves an Oscar nomination at least but I doubt it will get one as they go to cardboard cutout Hollywood stars playing the same roll in every film that they are in. Dally (6292)
396074 2005-10-23 19:23:00 I will wait until the DVD goes on sale, I went to the pictures about a month ago, from a recommendation from a friend. What a big rip off.

The ticket price was $16, the film was crap, I was waiting for the good part then gave up about ten minutes before end.
The advertisements were unbelievable plain boring crap, not as good as the TV advertisements,
If only they had of had a pre-film before the main film, it might of turned a crap ticket purchase into a "lets try it again another day soon and see if I can do better" and I would of been keen to go to "The World's Fastest Indian"

Last time I went they had a candid film on before the main film, if you pick a dud movie the pre-film made up for it. Now days, no such luck.

Sorry I am not wasting any more time and money until they bring back the candid film, otherwise I wait for the DVD to appear in the shops.

I saw this movie yesterday, it was really good. I thought Anthony Hopkins did a pretty good job with the Kiwi bloke accent. :)

If you are going to get picky about the movie, then my only comment would be that they showed the identical background crowd scene twice on what should of been different days of the race. It was pretty obvious, as it included a young guy wearing jeans and a white T-shirt standing beside some of the racing machines .... unless of course he was so fascinated by the race he hadn't moved from that same spot for three days :p

396076 2005-10-23 22:55:00 After seeing,"Indian" and having a bout of nostalgia, a question came to mind (and this is one for the oldies amongst us). If you could freeze NZ into one year to best describe NZ as godszone which year would it be. Dally (6292)
