| 673620 | 2008-05-29 03:11:00 | HP Notebook dv5000 Windows XP Home Boots select a user get an error "Application failed to initialize properly" oxc0000005 userinit.exe after the error, the desktop background is visable but no icons, nothing can only access programs through Ctrl, Alt, Delete Internet offers a variety of suggestions, I was hoping for something more concrete. how do I repair this? please. Cheers running Avast as we speak! So far one infection. |

The registry keys and associated files (userinit in windows/system32) was corrupted due to spyware intrusion. In the end we used the hidden recovery program on the laptop hard drive. Maybe read my latest post (pcsourcepoint.blogspot.com) in my blog for possible solutions/ideas/links, etc... However, if you open windows task manager, then new task and open a folder from there - e.g. my documents you might be able to get in, but some system/applicaton programs won't open... |
