399202 2005-10-25 20:26:00 I'm with Metla, Unlimited usage: and havn't checked to know. Would estimate at least 5 GB (not counting national traffic)

399203 2005-10-25 21:41:00 I have a 10Gb cap. Most I've ever used is just over 3Gb.Ditto. Even when I wasted a few months of my life playing America's Army online I never went above 5 gigs. Greg (193)
399204 2005-10-25 22:50:00 About 9 gigs when I was on Telecom Jetstream. Granted iut wasn't port shaped, so I used to use bittorrent a lot. Now I'm oin orcon bitstream which does have shaping, so no p2p here Edward (31)
399205 2005-10-25 22:55:00 Lets see on Dial Up.....

10Mb per hour X 2 Hours per night X 30 Days = **** out of luck.

399206 2005-10-25 23:16:00 Last month I did about 39 gigs, a real low month for me....

Months before were around 65-70gigs consistently. Looks like I'll hit around 55-60 this month :)

How do you massive data people do it? Even if you sat downloading demos every day, I don't see how.
I can only think of one thing...

399207 2005-10-25 23:43:00 I think one of the months we did 9 GB out of 10 GB, but part from that we do between 9 - 5 GB per month I think?

We are on Xtra Broadband explorer plan.

399208 2005-10-26 00:22:00 It is inconceivable to me that you guys are using so much bandwidth. But good luck anyway, enjoy yourselves.

My office with three online PCs uses about 650MB on a 600 Xtra plan. At home we use 250-300MB on a 500 plan.

399209 2005-10-26 00:28:00 At home we use 250-300MB on a 500 plan.
 Are you never home? Do you never play games? Your low useage is lowering the standards.

I don't know how anyone can survive on 250MB a month.

399210 2005-10-26 01:30:00 Four computers (2 for me, one each for kids) on a 1GB full speed plan. I'm on line at least 12 hours a day (but not necessarily active), 7 days most weeks.

Never gone over the 1GB, 795MB at present with 1.5 days to go. Closest ever was within 50MB of the cap, just once.

Exactly WHAT do you download and upload to use 40+ GB?? Do you ever go back to any of this stuff and use it, or is it downloaded just because you can?

Cheers

399211 2005-10-26 04:17:00 Have never, as far as I know, been over my 3GB cap yet . I can manage quite comfortably with that limit as I don't use P2P, bittorrents and whatever but I am constantly downloading program updates for various tools, utilities, etc . The odd game and Linux distro has also been grabbed, plus a massive amount of updates for Mepis while I was running it recently .

Since the weekend I have downloaded at least a dozen different utilities, trying to find a couple that suit the purpose for which I want them so goodness knows how much bandwidth that took up .

I know what people are up and downloading when they are using huge amounts of bandwidth but what I can't understand is what they do with everything they get . DVDs only hold 4GB and unless people have multiple humungous hard drives you can't keep those downloaded files for long .

It's not really my cup of tea .
