It's no joke when water levels rise like that, but I hope there is a happy outcome for Metla and any others facing similar threats this weekend . It's a bit dampish here at Chez Billy as well, in fact this afternoon Mrs T complained that it was raining in the kitchen, and it was too . :eek: Water was dripping from the ceiling so I've been up inside the roof half the afternoon looking for the leak and putting strategically placed containers to stem the flow . We have two distinct seasons here: The WET SEASON . . . where we try to catch people who go to sea in the swollen rivers and washes while they are drowning and screaming all the way . Many house are lost during this season from slides and generally the fact that they were built where houses should not be built . This season produces a lot of grasses and weeds and wildflowers to sprout up and grow immensly . . . . waiting until . . . The DRY SEASON . . . where we try to stop the fires from the green-stuff-now-brown and burns-like-gasoline . Many houses are lost during this season . We use a lot of helicopters rescuing people from their homes that they refuse to leave as they burn . There is however another season . . . well, not SEASONAL . . but at any moment: THE EARTHQUAKE SEASON . |
