2008-06-04 22:12:00 | I have always had trouble with BFM, it works sometimes but will randomly lose the stream. Sometimes it won't even start. Makes no difference whether I choose 32bit or 128bit. I have tried several media players as well. I have 2 PCs, this one and my home PC, its the same regardless. Lately I have been using VLC and this is what it reports when it can't find the stream: It beats me, I've spent ages trying different things at my end to no avail. Yesterday and today it won't work at all. Other radios stations all work just fine and never give me any trouble. BFM themselves have no idea. www.95bfm.co.nz 74D3DF48C access_http error: error: HTTP/1.0 404 File Not Found access_http error: error: HTTP/1.0 404 File Not Found access_mms error: error: HTTP/1.0 404 File Not Found main error: no suitable access module for `streams.95bfm.com main debug: adding playlist item `C:\DOCUME~1\MCS\LOCALS~1\Temp\bfm32-2.m3u' ( C:\DOCUME~1\MCS\LOCALS~1\Temp\bfm32-2.m3u ) main debug: creating new input thread main debug: waiting for thread completion main debug: thread 3992 (input) created at priority 1 (input/input.c:265) main debug: drive letter C: found in source main debug: `C:\DOCUME~1\MCS\LOCALS~1\Temp\bfm32-2.m3u' gives access `' demux `' path `C:\DOCUME~1\MCS\LOCALS~1\Temp\bfm32-2.m3u' main debug: creating demux: access='' demux='' path='C:\DOCUME~1\MCS\LOCALS~1\Temp\bfm32-2.m3u' main debug: looking for access_demux module: 1 candidate main debug: creating access '' path='C:\DOCUME~1\MCS\LOCALS~1\Temp\bfm32-2.m3u' main debug: looking for access2 module: 5 candidates vcd debug: trying .cue file: C:\DOCUME~1\MCS\LOCALS~1\Temp\bfm32-2.cue vcd debug: could not find .cue file access_file debug: opening file `C:\DOCUME~1\MCS\LOCALS~1\Temp\bfm32-2.m3u' main debug: using access2 module "access_file" main debug: pre-buffering... main debug: received first data for our buffer main debug: creating demux: access='' demux='' path='C:\DOCUME~1\MCS\LOCALS~1\Temp\bfm32-2.m3u' main debug: looking for demux2 module: 45 candidates playlist debug: found valid M3U playlist file main debug: using demux2 module "playlist" main debug: looking for a subtitle file in C:\DOCUME~1\MCS\LOCALS~1\Temp\ main debug: `C:\DOCUME~1\MCS\LOCALS~1\Temp\bfm32-2.m3u' successfully opened playlist debug: starting playlist playback main debug: adding playlist item `streams.95bfm.com ( streams.95bfm.com ) main debug: EOF reached main debug: closing input main debug: removing module "playlist" main debug: removing module "access_file" main debug: thread times: real 0m0.093750s, kernel 0m0.000000s, user 0m0.000000s main debug: thread 3992 joined (input/input.c:412) main debug: creating new input thread main debug: waiting for thread completion main debug: thread 3992 (input) created at priority 1 (input/input.c:265) main debug: `streams.95bfm.com gives access `http' demux `' path `streams.95bfm.com/stream32' main debug: creating demux: access='http' demux='' path='streams.95bfm.com/stream32' main debug: looking for access_demux module: 0 candidates main warning: no access_demux module matched "http" main debug: creating access 'http' path='streams.95bfm.com/stream32' main debug: looking for access2 module: 7 candidates access_http debug: http: server='streams.95bfm.com' port=80 file='/stream32 main debug: net: connecting to streams.95bfm.com port 80 main debug: connection in progress access_http debug: protocol 'HTTP' answer code 404 access_http error: error: HTTP/1.0 404 File Not Found access_http debug: switching to HTTP version 1.0 main debug: net: connecting to streams.95bfm.com port 80 main debug: connection in progress access_http debug: protocol 'HTTP' answer code 404 access_http error: error: HTTP/1.0 404 File Not Found main debug: net: connecting to streams.95bfm.com port 80 main debug: connection in progress access_mms error: error: HTTP/1.0 404 File Not Found vcd debug: trying .cue file: streams.95bfm.cue vcd debug: could not find .cue file access_file warning: streams.95bfm.com/stream32: No such file or directory cdda debug: trying .cue file: streams.95bfm.cue cdda debug: could not find .cue file cdda warning: could not open streams.95bfm.com/stream32 main warning: no access2 module matching "http" could be loaded main error: no suitable access module for `streams.95bfm.com main debug: thread times: real 0m1.343750s, kernel 0m0.000000s, user 0m0.015625s main debug: thread 3992 joined (input/input.c:412) main: nothing to play

2008-06-05 22:06:00 | Come on guys, I've had this problem for ages, someone must be able to interpret the VLC report and have some idea? | pctek (84) | |
2008-06-05 23:20:00 | pctek...is bfm the Auckland Uni music station?? Have you tried Cool Blue, also from Auckland? Have you had snow yet? PJ. | Poppa John (284) | |
2008-06-05 23:25:00 | To be honest it looks like the stream is offline - the 404 responses mean the same thing as if it was a webpage: "nothing here guys". I don't think it's a problem with your setup. Are you trying to play the station from an old playlist entry? If so, maybe get the new link from the site. Do the channels at sky.fm/ or http: work for you?

2008-06-06 00:00:00 | Try it again Now - I tried it yesterday and Nothing would work, no matter what Player I tried, today it opens and plays fine - they may have found the problem:thumbs: | wainuitech (129) | |
2008-06-06 00:31:00 | It still will not work in Firefox. At all. In IE it did today though. I always used it with Firefox. Also last night I tried it at home again and it worked through Firefox. So what gives? Yes, I have a list of other stations, yes, its Akld Unis BFM (I like Lawline among other things), its only this one thats such a pain to get going. CactusLab (who do the techy stuff for BFM) were totally unhelpful.

2008-06-06 00:36:00 | Have you had snow yet? PJ. Its windy here in Gore, not 130km yet though. We won't get snow, Wyndham gets sleet, hail, frost. It may try to snow but thats it. Don't think Gore has had snow either. Go a bit further out - west, south, north, and yes there will be snow. South and west will have the hideous winds, Wyndham is likely to have less wind. Its actually nice and sunny and quite warm at the moment, meant to disintegrate later tonight.
