675523 2008-06-04 10:57:00 Hi there, I am looking for an online journal website, not really a "blog" but rather a site where I can create private entries of anything, save them according to date created and then be able to search for entries by keyword. I have found a couple that are ok, www.penzu.com, http: http://www.inboxjournal.com. Does anyone know of any better ones?

Cheers

675524 2008-06-04 11:32:00 I use wordpress to do exactly what you want. Kind of like a private journal that only I can access though I can always make it public.

I can add Tag's and keywords so I can also search my entries really easily.

675525 2008-06-04 12:31:00 Maybe have a look at vox (www.vox.com/) for private and sharing. Some use free online storage sites (e.g. box.net, Xdrive), but I have read of closures (www.labnol.org), particularly with the larger files storage sites. Or if you have small files, then you could try your ISP, as many provide free storage... kahawai chaser (3545)

Online storage sites? He wants to write a journal, not share files...

675527 2008-06-04 12:59:00 Well I use to store on Stream Load, (now Media Max) which was optional to share, as you had to invite other users (who required the same software). There must be several secure (supposedly) online storage/personal sites, requiring user names and passwords...similar in principle to online bank accounts... kahawai chaser (3545)

My main question is, if you want it private then why go online at all?? Unless you want to update from multiple sources.

Backup to External HDD, Flashdrive or DVD.
Surely more secure and reliable than any online site.

That's right, you answered your own question (not sure why you bothered asking it!)
