674869 2008-06-02 03:00:00 I believe Telecom is blocking my inward calls, PC to PC, through Yahoo Live Messenger. My friend in England can hear me loud and clear yet I can't hear her, she uses Windows XP as I do, has checked the volume etc, and there is no reason really why I can't hear her calls.
I went to google and it says that ISP do block PC to PC calls especially if they are the only ISP.
I think its disgusting and they should be taken to task, I wouldn't mind paying a small amount if they wanted it that way, but to block calls

674870 2008-06-02 03:11:00 I doubt Xtra would block yahoo.

You probably have to configure your setup in Yahoo, for it to work

674871 2008-06-02 03:45:00 I don't think its Xtra. Perhaps you should check your settings more closely or just re-install the program and try again.

Telecom is not Comcast.

674872 2008-06-02 04:02:00 Have you each tried calling someone else ? That seems like a good place to start. kjaada (253)
674873 2008-06-02 04:41:00 Thx, for the replies, I have checked and re checked my settings and everything is ok. According to Yahoo it is all working ok. No we haven't tried calling someone else, probably the obvious thing to do. Fern68 (13827)
674874 2008-06-02 04:52:00 P.S. I have had another voice message from another friend and the same thing happened she could hear me but I couldn't hear her,
Gonzales, why do you say Telecom wouldn't block calls.?
Fern68 (13827)
674875 2008-06-02 05:04:00 Well Xtra recently incorporated itself into Yahoo... YahooXtra... thus it would be a really bad idea for them to block Yahoo content or services to their subscribers.

I suggest you take a closer look at your setup and possibly the hardware you're using (mic etc) you may have missed something.

Cheers,

674876 2008-06-02 05:12:00 You are so right chief, lord knows what could be wrong, we have checked and double checked. But obviously we have missed something. Thx. Fern68 (13827)
674877 2008-06-02 07:08:00 At one time I had a similar problem, but was using msn messenger. Several of us tried everything we could think of.

Eventually, the only thing that worked was for me to uninstall then re-install.

Good luck with yours.
