400691 2005-10-31 19:23:00 I just got an e-mail from Xtra while eating my cornflakes to say that they have dropped my monthly charge $10.00 to $59.95.

Maybe the pressure is getting to them at last? (And slightly overdue in my opinion!)

I'm guessing it will piss off all those ISPs who resell... wonder if Telecom will do the same for them?

400692 2005-10-31 19:31:00 No likely. Look it the IT section of this mornings Herald and the letters to the editor on that page and see what people over seas are getting.. NMakes NZ look real bad.. paulw (1826)
400693 2005-10-31 21:01:00 That's pretty cool. I'm chuffed I changed to Xtra now :)

Personally I think the price is well worth it, considering I use the Internet 12+ hours every day for work and play.

400695 2005-10-31 22:04:00 Yep, I sort of agree. Generally I don't have too much problem with the Xtra broadband and use it work all day, mostly goes as it should. But then there's Telecom with the ridiculous prices they charge to forward calls from home to Vodafone etc, which I have to live with as I had no end of trouble with telecom's mobile service.

Still, the tax man will be happy that he is paying less for my internet connection :p

400696 2005-10-31 23:30:00 Bah! $10 only on the Explorer plan means nothing to them. What we need is a drop in price, across the whole board. techie (7177)
400697 2005-10-31 23:34:00 Same here got a an email from them too so instead of $69.95 I now pay $59.95 for my 10Gig 2M down/128k up plan. Sad the upload rate is not so good... Mr Wetzyl (362)
400698 2005-10-31 23:38:00 Terribly exciting isn't it.

I'm sure most people would be more impressed if they had kept their $10 and removed the caps.

It will be interesting to see what the other ISP do now

Have you got a link to it? Or was that in the print edition of the paper?

I would be more impressed if they increases there upload speed then removing caps ( & if you look around the world like in the UK & OZ they still have caps they are just a bit bigger then what we have.
