| 399911 | 2005-10-27 22:35:00 | I ordered a cpu from PCsale.co.nz yesterday. I received an order confirmation with an account number yesterday. I paid with Internet banking and then received a confirmation of my order today. All emails clearly stated the order was for a Celeron 2.8D. However their website had a description for, I would guess, a video card. The PC Sale Online website mentions "While every effort has been made to ensure accuracy, PCsale Online Ltd will not be liable for errors or inaccuracies in the information contained herein." So, I figured I wouldn't hold them to a cpu with video out. I have just received an email cancelling my order. I phoned PCsale and was told that because the description was wrong they didn't have to honour the sale. They have also put the price of the cpu up by about $20, to be inline with everyone else. I told Jack at PC Sale that this was unacceptable and he suggested I go to the small claims court. So, I need advice. Should I try pursuing the matter, or are PC Sale as dodgy as they seem? In my opinion, instead of trying for customer service, they are just going to piss everyone off for the sake of $20. Telling someone to take the matter to the small claims court is not what I would call good service. As far as I am concerned, I have paid for the cpu and they have confirmed my order. They say that every dissatisfied customer tells 10 other people. I would like to say that PC Sale Online are good to deal with, but it sure isn't looking like it at the moment. Oh well, off to tell my 10 people. I will update when I have an answer. |

| 399912 | 2005-10-27 23:42:00 | We have had an update. They offered to sell the cpu at a 9% discount. When it was pointed out that we could just get it cheaper through Super Cheap PCs, we were told not to deal with them as they have a reputation for bad service. Huh, I guess that is irony. | jamesdoc (5502) | ||

If it goes up after you order, and especially after you paid, tough luck on the shop. Rather rude response from the shop - take him up on his suggestion. |

| 399915 | 2005-10-28 02:53:00 | I bought a PC from them a couple of years ago. Firstly I was assured it would be on the courier "tonight". So I made a trek into town and deposited the money in cash into their account. I received an e-mail an hour later confirming receipt of money. Later another e-mail informed me it would be on courier "tomorrow". They had to check it out and make sure it was working properly. Funny! I bought it without an OS. And because of this the PC was sold as parts. Not as a computer. So what were they checking out? First thing I noticed when it arrived the ETC System badge on the case was about 10 degrees off the square. Put on by a blind man I presume. A month later a 512 meg of ram packed up. Yes they would replace it after they got it back, and after I had sent them $5 for freight. The case was alright though and the CD and floppy drives. I've since replaced the m/b, CPU, power supply, and video card.And the HDD. The el cheapo "Rambo" ram is surprisingly working well and still in use. I don't think I will be dealing with them again. |

No, I wouldn't deal with Super Cheap either. My point was that PCSale's big offer of compromise was to sell the cpu for still dearer than another shop. All I am after is for PCSale to honour the price they confirmed my sale at. |

| 399917 | 2005-10-28 07:05:00 | Since you're apparently using the term CPU to mean the whole box, perhaps you could add the total price involved so that we can compare $20 versus 9% discount. | PaulD (232) | ||
| 399918 | 2005-10-28 07:41:00 | No. I ordered a cpu, a Celeron 2.8D. Why would you assume I meant anything else? | jamesdoc (5502) | ||
| 399919 | 2005-10-28 08:45:00 | Because you were talking about video cards and video out. | PaulD (232) | ||
| 399920 | 2005-10-28 08:56:00 | Because you were talking about video cards and video out. The video card is what they accidentaly put in the description. There is no computer involved. |
