400947 2005-11-01 20:07:00 When connecting to a torrent, sometimes its possible to see the IPs of the other users on the tracker. Findnot.com used to provide you with your GPS location, and every time I tried it, it was usually accurate to within 10meters.You can always see the IPs of connected peers.

That GPS locations stuff is a load of rot.

400948 2005-11-02 09:57:00 How so? This guessed very accurately where I was.

Sadly, findnot.com have taken it off their homepage :(

400949 2005-11-02 10:15:00 I have a static IP address. It's xx.xx.xx.xx

It's the same address if I plug my jigganet in on dialup in Auckland, and the same address on dialup in Bluff.

I just can't see anyway it would work.

I once saw something that identified which city and suburb I am in (actually it was the Telecom exchange suburb) - could it track it back through the Telecom exchange?

400951 2005-11-02 10:54:00 Yet things like NeoTrace Express work and give you a visual plot of where the IPs are globally?! Chilling_Silence (9)
