One person hearing the other, but not vice versa is a symptom of this. Goes to show when asking for help, more information, the better :) Refering to me?. I'm giving all the info that I know, we are not all computer 'experts'. It might help if NAT was explained,so I went to google, and yes I do use a router. ADSL2. n computer networking, network address translation (NAT, also known as network masquerading, native address translation or IP masquerading) is a technique of transceiving network traffic through a router that involves re-writing the source and/or destination IP addresses and usually also the TCP/UDP port numbers of IP packets as they pass through. Checksums (both IP and TCP/UDP) must also be rewritten to take account of the changes. Most systems using NAT do so in order to enable multiple hosts on a private network to access the Internet using a single public IP address (see gateway). Nonetheless, NAT can introduce complications in communication between hosts and may have a performance impact. |

| 674881 | 2008-06-04 02:04:00 | No i meant im glad you mentioned the only 1 voice thing :) Do you have more than 1 computer in the house using the internet through the router? If that's the case, NAT is likely to be used to enable internet sharing. In fact, NAT will probably be used even if its just 1 computer. NAT also increases security as well. I've never used this yahoo service, most services like this automatically work through NAT (like MSN messenger), but some dont (such as torrents). Someone else who uses this yahoo client might be able to help you... |

| 674883 | 2008-06-04 03:01:00 | It should be working, I don't see telecom blocking it... since Yahoo provides telecom's email services now Sound cards provide a number of inputs, such as Line-in, Mic, Aux, CD but while you can listen to all inputs at once you can only record from ONE at once... make sure the mic is selected as record input in windows and in yahoo if nessecary - make sure volume is turned up and unmuted and mic boost is enabled if needed. Could be ports are not open in router |

| 674884 | 2008-06-04 04:32:00 | At one time I had a similar problem, but was using msn messenger . Several of us tried everything we could think of . Eventually, the only thing that worked was for me to uninstall then re-install . Good luck with yours . What version of Messenger are you using, I downloaded Version 2008 thinking I was getting the PC to PC calls, but no there was no sign of it . Agent 24 Could be ports are not open in router How do I go about checking the router . ? I have been reading where others are having the same problem (not in N . Z . ) but Yahoo aren't answering any questions |

The only PC to PC contact with whom it doesn't work, has a much earlier version of MSN Messenger (her choice, as she found the newer versions caused too many problems for her) . Somebody with more knowledge than me should be able to help you with your router query . |
