| 399660 | 2005-10-27 05:14:00 | What's the penalty now anyway, for a house burglary? For a 2nd time offender? 6mths in jail (minus parole), and 50hrs of community service? Just give an indication, I won't express my opinion of whether it's harsh or not as I don't want to start a debate about that |

| 399667 | 2005-10-29 06:11:00 | I hope you get your gear back Hunt. Just a quick question about laptop security: are boot passwords ineffective at 'locking' laptops? If, by "boot password" you mean "BIOS Password", then they give a small measure of protection of data access depending on the laptop. Some require a trip to a service agent to unlock, some can be unlocked by using Google to get the info and some (IBM) models actually lock the hard drive as well. But its certainly better than just a Windows Password. |

| 399668 | 2005-10-29 06:13:00 | you can get programs installed on your laptop so if it gets stolen, and it connects to the internet, it tracks it down or sends some details, not sure on the details though | Prescott (11) | ||
