2008-06-04 21:29:00 | Within a cell (a paragraph area of merged columns, about 3 cm height) when I start typing text, the text appears at the bottom of the cell. How do I get it to start back up at the top? | Strommer (42) | |

2008-06-04 21:45:00 | Alignment. Format - cells, Alignment, change Vertical to top. Thanks for QUICK reply, but there is no Alignment tab under the Format menu. Excel Help says that there should be an Alignment tab, but: [Format > Cells] only brings up a Font tab. I am using Excel 2002.

2008-06-04 22:57:00 | You'll have to do that when the cell(s) are not active. (e.g halfway through typing) | the_bogan (9949) | |
2008-06-04 23:19:00 | You'll have to do that when the cell(s) are not active. (e.g halfway through typing) Thanks - that did it. Dunno - thought I tried the inactive option but guess not. Here is another simple question: How do I close this cell that has a missing vertical line (see screenshot, the cell has a missing boundary on the right side). www.imagef1.net.nz

2008-06-05 19:42:00 | Alignment. Format - cells, Alignment, change Vertical to top. PCT, this did not work. When I tried Format > Cells, there was no Alignment tab - I posted this above, with a screenshot. The problem was that the cell had to be inactive, as the_bogan pointed out.
