Or to double click on a file/picture would open it, now brings up the COMMAND DOS type line (now bold) and you have to move down to the open command. I have Win XP with all the updates. How do you fix this problem. |

In the 'Edit File Type' dialogue box, highlight the word 'Open', a button called 'Set Default' should light up, click it and then OK your way out. That should make 'Open' the default action on right click menu |

I also looked at your solution after that so it was as you said. I would have liked to have seen the results prior to the registry software check. Again appreciate your time on this.
