676008 2008-06-05 23:58:00 I am running Outlook Express in win XP home.

I have created a folder in which I have saved several incomming e-mails.

The question is how do I shift this folder to somewhere I can copy it to a new computer. I don't care if I have to copy it to a dvd. Or even send the folder to my gmail address. But the folder does not want to be copied out of OE.

There must be some way of doing it:badpc:

676009 2008-06-06 00:02:00 Right mouse on the folder then go to the folder it says under properties.

This might work if you copy the dbx file (after you close OE obviously)

Dont move the whole folder tho, OE wont be able to read it, then you'll have something else to moan about

676010 2008-06-06 00:05:00 How many E-mails are " several" - If its only a couple it may be easier to save them then simply paste back into the other location.

In OE, you can copy the folder by opening the OE store folder, copy the said .dbx folder to what ever media you want then import it to the other PC.

676011 2008-06-06 00:29:00 Or use Export off the File menu.

The easiest way to save everything would be to install Thunderbird, let it import everything from OE then backup TB with Mozbackup.

Much, much better.

676012 2008-06-06 09:44:00 Create a folder in My Documents.

When you have read your email, go to File, then Save As, in OE header and save your email in the folder made in My Docs.

676016 2008-06-07 11:47:00 Forward the e-mails to a friend, and ask them to send them back in a week. R2x1 (4628)
676017 2008-06-07 12:08:00 Jack has maybe worked it out I hope. This in so far has there has been no reply at this point. Mind you the PressF1 site has been down for a fair percentage of today so either Jack gave up or has gone mad. Sweep (90)
