401971 2005-11-04 09:22:00 I've just managed to set up my computer to record TV, yey! Bit of a primitive setup (old VCR used as tuner, video out from VCR to video in of video card, video out of video card to AV in of TV) but it works!

I'm using Asus Digital VCR to record / watch TV but there are a few problems with it. The signal that's coming in plays fine (nice and clear / crisp etc) but when I record a clip and play it back, the video quality is quite degraded (pixelated). I've had a look in the settings and got it set to the higest possible resolution to record at. The areas that I wan't to play with are greyed out (must be a limited version?) things like video format and frame rate can't be played with.

Does anyone know of any other programs similar that I could use to record / view my incoming video signal with?

Thanks.

401973 2005-11-04 17:39:00 It'll be better, if u get something like a leadtek tuner, or any TV tuner .

A program for viewing TV programs, comes with it .

And you can record with it, record from video in (CVBS/S-Video) .

And then save it in a few formats (MPEG1/2 etc), and then edit and burn it, if u have a DVD burner .

Thats if your system is reasonably fast . . . . . And you're not too worried about recording movies from Sky .

Yeah I realise that, I'd rather not spend any more money atm though .

Thanks, found another program (Virtual VCR (http://virtualvcr . sourceforge . net/)) through the DivX website . It's free so this may be what I'm looking for .

Also Dr DivX 1 . 0 is no longer available but Dr DivX 2 . 0 ( . com/drdivx/" target="_blank">expandinglimits . com) is due out 'soon' .
