402280 2005-11-07 08:46:00 Could (if its within the rules) put a brief descrpton and a link to tradef1 in your sig......maybe.

Just a thought.

such as.

9800pro at www.tradef1.co.nz.

Then at least your promoting the site, and alerting forum users to your item, Plus you can edit it so it stays current with what your selling, and, No new threads needed.....I'm not sure how this will go down with having mini-ads for your listed item on tradef1 in your signature if this method takes off. There has been problems (even recently) where newcomers see what looks like adverts (such as Metla's sig) and think this means they can also advertise their piece of the internet. Can't expect new PF1'ers to be aware of the finer details on what is and what is not acceptable.

I will run it pass the Boss and see what he thinks. :)

402281 2005-11-07 08:55:00 Hardly. It was bad enough when you virtually advertised your own laptop here not so long ago.

Metla put a lot of work into getting TradeF1 online for this sort of thing. Why aren't people using it??

Good question. Unfortunately I don't actually have an answer. It might be that people are attracted to TradeMe instead. It would appear to me that TradeMe is very close to being the most popular web site in NZ.

Fortunately on PressF1 I don't need to read Sigs so that I don't get the advertising.

If it isn't then i'd like to know what is!!!!!!

Anyway here's the cards listing on tradef1

Yeehar.. May we use the site now that the great idea has been made real for us. The only thing missing from it is large scale user participation, and seeing so many of us wanted it, it seems the least we can do is use it so it can grow to all it could be. :D

402285 2005-11-07 16:44:00 OK enough said.

I don't realy care if I sell it or not.
My thinking was. "someone in the group might like it" so I mentioned it.

It certainly was not a commercial offer.
Would N be so upset if I said "to give away free"?

I didn't think one or two of our members would be so offended.

So forget it! :annoyed: :annoyed:

OK, well I have run it past the Boss and the answer is - no.

The problem is where to draw the line. Once you start putting mini-ads and links for items for sell, then you will start getting links to Trademe and so on which is not acceptable. Newcomers to PF1 can't tell that links to tradeF1 are OK but everything else is not ... etc, so we got to keep it simple.

Sorry guys.
