401555 2005-11-04 00:17:00 11 hours actually Steve :D but the point is that Campbell at least does his own research and writing.

Graham makes a fair point too when he says that the reward has no connection with the work. The problem is trying to assess that.

For example, I cannot believe that All Blacks do anything which is worth $100,000/year. Yet they are paid many times that. However Rupert Murdoch would say that the advertising money per second during an All Black test makes them worth every cent.

Actually the real mystery is why chief executives are paid what they receive. Tens of millions for some in the USA. Even when companies have bad results. Go figure. :(

401556 2005-11-04 00:42:00 Makes me sick - they are all just a bunch of leeches. Someone emailed National Radio this morning saying no wonder young people don't want to be teachers or nurses etc cause the remuneration is so poor in comparison. Good point - make the pay relate to the relevance of the job - street cleaners do more good than TV news readers so pay them more......and so on.... slofox (5767)
401557 2005-11-04 01:22:00 I can remember when that was valid, you had to get up and turn the dial .

In this household now we need a remote jamming device to stop frequent channel changing :D
Its normally on during dinner . We don't sit at the table with the remote, nor can we actually see it . Its more the TV is still on in the other room . . . .

401558 2005-11-04 01:31:00 I have always preferred Woods to Holmes. Especially since the show he had with "Shrek" the sheep and he told the kids to be quiet. Arrogant, if you ask me. Add to that "Cheeky ... ". KiwiTT_NZ (233)
401559 2005-11-04 01:57:00 Give me 3 News any day . . . Hilary's 'spontanious fits of laughter and bloopers' are a pleasant change from plastic smiles . . . she's, well- human . Hell, Susan Woods should be grinning every night it she gets paid $450gs . As for her 'researching stories' TV1 had a promo a while back where she said that often other people in the office suggested stories . . . I hope they got paid part of her salary .

I'm sorry, I don't have much faith in someone who said she 'screamed at her kids' as an argument that the negotiations were 'making her life hell' . Real people deal with a lot worse, for a lot less money . . .

401560 2005-11-04 03:47:00 Nobody has mentioned weather reporters . How much do they earn?

The maori fella on 1 news (brendon I think) sometimes makes me cringe with embarrassment for him . He makes more mistakes in his 5 minutes work than most people would make in a week .

Mind you, Toni on 3 news with her liberal sexual innuendos, is pretty hard to beat!

If they are paid for accuracy they have to pay to be there . I agree entirely about Brendon . UGH!!!

You got that right Veale! :D :o

Hey, whatever happened to that guy on TV1 weather - his name slips me just now but the one that did funny stuff at the end of the weather report and who flew a light plane around NZ.
