Anyhow, Im voting for natural selection, Lets give every household a huge amount of explosive devices, then send the fire crews and ambo staff to Aussie for a months holiday. I wonder where the kids get the money to buy them. Thieving I suppose. At least they won't have to worry about the police. The police are to busy collecting money from motorists to investigate crime. Had to laugh at this. Our local MP won't support a ban on fireworks because she is considered a wowser after getting smoking banned in pubs etc.etc. And she doesn't want to make herself a target for even more abuse. I live way out in the wops and the only things that go bang are rifles and then a possum falls out of a tree. If I lived in town and half-wits were setting fire to houses (as they have already done) I would probably be for a ban. Not for the injury users do to themselves but the harm to others. As for the "Oh wah wah nanny state won't let me play anymore," faction, I suggest you make your own explosives, go to an isolated area and have fun blowing each other up, then nanny state will still race an ambulance out to you and fix you up for free.	mark c (247)

Only registered pyrotechinicians as is the law most of the year around. I don't think they should be banned though. They should be sold all year round to the general public, not just the week leading up to Guy Fawkes. People just need to learn how to have fun safely. eg wear glasses when having roman candle wars, dont use metal pliers to crimp pipe bombs etc... It's all pretty logical really!	roddy_boy (4115)

401917	2005-11-04 23:17:00	No - seems to me if the council govt bodies can regualate where we walk our dogs, drink liquor etc these days surely they can just pass some sort of law regulating where fireworks can be lit. would make it more fun for buyer of fireworks as well as $$ these days dont buy many and with other people present more too see. Probably cut down numbers lit. Easier to patrol if police need presence. seems to be a lot of kiljoys around these days. "I didnt get to where I am today by"	murphy (9203)
401918	2005-11-04 23:25:00	My sister's boyfreind likes to build his own, seen some might big explosions going on, Make ya deaf for a week. Last one I seen he taped about 2000 sparklers together, when lit we went blind, World just turned white.......pure white.......	Metla (12)
