2005-11-04 01:54:00 | I spent about 30 minutes looking for a place to send a flame e-mail to SONY...all the time going in circles trying to figure out their corporate site to tell them just what I think of their idea on inserting rootkit mods in my computer. Does anyone have a backdoor to get their attention?

2005-11-04 02:05:00 | When you say a 'backdoor' I hope you're not thinking of installing your own rootkit on their computers without first advising them that "Opening this e-mail may install hidden programs/files in your operating system that you will not be able to remove without first contacting me". That would be downright unfriendly and I'm guessing illegal. Of course the lack of any way to contact them through their web site may just be why they have had no complaints about the practice in the last 8 months. Or am I being cynical?

2005-11-04 02:11:00 | . . . . . . . . . and I am accused of being cynical . . . but no . . . the backdoor I want is just an e-mail adress to give them a piece of my mind and tell them how I am going to Phillips for the new Home Theater System . . . and anything else that needs updating/throwing away for Phillips equiptment . . . . . . . . . . . and . . . no matter how "fun" it sounds to mess with their rootkits . . . I won't be going that far . . . . . . . . I leave that to the same geek-o's who are messing with Mr . Bill . . . I think enough of them had their ears perked up over this fiasco at Sony to get some of them angry . I am just looking for an address to sent them my regards . .

2005-11-04 02:18:00 | Sony's Music side often seems at odds with their Electronic Hardware side. I wouldn't start buying Philips hardware unless you also decide that it will do a better job. From the sound of it the Sony management already knew they were in trouble as that form of DRM was already replaced with another. | PaulD (232) | |

2005-11-04 03:34:00 | Sony Music = Stinkers. Althoughn they I doubt they're too much different to the rest of them. Ironically this Secunia advisory (secunia.com) warn of a vulnerability in their crudy DRM software. Obviously they were only interested in securing their rights, not yours.

2005-11-04 18:45:00 | I got a generated response from SONY: "contentprotectionhelp <ContentProtectionHelp@info.sel.sony.com> to me More options 10:19 am (19 minutes ago) Thank you for contacting Sony BMG Online. Sorry to bump this again...but Sony and IBM..well you can read it here.... An alliance that includes IBM, Sony and Philips has formed to share Linux patents. The alliance could help increase the popularity of the open-source operating system, which challenges Windows. Vendors and customers would be protected from royalty disputes over the use of Linux code.<from this (money.cnn.com) site> I think someone said that Sony's crappola will be ok with M$ because Mr. Bill isn't insulted by getting his face slapped with money...but this might be a camel cracker here...it looks to me that Sony and IBM and Phillips are gonna tilt at M$. I just hope that Phillips and Sony don't start sleeping together..I have a case against Sony and just bought Phillips...a LOT of Phillips!
