| 1427552 | 2016-10-15 19:57:00 | Hi All. So I write a long letter over a few days on Office word 2016 and eventually e-m it to the UK. Insert & Attach. He is using Word 2004. He cannot open the attachment. I have told him I am using Word 2016. Why not? Is 2004 too old for 2016 to open? PJ |

| 1427554 | 2016-10-15 21:13:00 | There was no Office 2004 (only for MAC), only 2003 & 2007. By default Office 2016 will have saved your document in DOCX. So to answer the question, YES 2003 is to old. For an earlier version of office your friend can install Microsoft Office Compatibility Pack www.microsoft.com When they open your file it will convert and open. OR another way, you can open your document and / Save As - Word 97-2003. DOC and resend. 7575 |
