1427436 2016-10-14 19:45:00 Last night another large cumulative update came in and at Power-On this morning the Computer went about configuring them. After 10min or so I got the Success message and then a little Banner Notice came up telling me to click it to find out more. This I did and to my horror there were failed Updates everywhere, just take a look. I couldn’t copy and paste, or save, so I had to Screen-shoot them.

Little wonder I’m having so much trouble and the Computer is running like a dog, I guess there’s broken bits all over the place.

1427437 2016-10-14 19:55:00 Looks like Office is not updating

The other updates have sorted themselves

Try Disk cleanup and a restart then updates again

Looks like Office is not updating

It's working so that may be a good thing. ;)

Yes, but where are the remains of the failures?

Try Disk cleanup and a restart then updates again.

Disk Cleanup found only 23 Meg of Junk 21 of them being Thumbnails so I can't see them causing a problem and I'm "Gun Shy" of Updates. :D

1427439 2016-10-14 20:50:00 You probably have mentioned before but are you running the latest build is all this based on a totally clean install from the beginning ?

Have a Tool just made for you www.ghacks.net But I would not recommend

This may help www.ghacks.net , "Reset Windows Update Agent"

1427440 2016-10-14 21:02:00 Like I say, it never ends!

New Updates, now this!

I get a message saying Windows Defender wants to run a scan and I agree to let it.

1427441 2016-10-14 21:08:00 It's not a work platform anymore, can't imagine if you have a Win10 PC in the Office and you have some very important work to finish in the morning .... bk T (215)

Two very interesting links Lawrence, I'll re-read and give them both consideration .

Depends what you call a Totally Clean Install I guess .

It was from an extracted . iso image on a flash drive and it worked great until the Updates came along .

If you have a Antivirus you can turn Defender off or should turn it off as you have 2 Antiviruses running at the same time

When I installed Eset Defender was automatically sidelined

Totally clean install means absolutely nothing gets saved

So, a Win10 upgrade requires you to Format your drive and start again.

Pity they didn't bother to tell us that.
