| 1427325 | 2016-10-12 05:21:00 | My PC refused to start up - fans are spinning, led lights OK but no display on both Monitors. What I have done: 1. Removed Video card, plugged the monitor into the onboard video connector, without joy - therefore, not he graphic card issue. 2. Found an old 450W psu lying around, removed the PSU (Corsair HX750 - >5 years of age), connected up this 450W PSU just to try it out, and to my surprise, the PC boots up normally. Can I confirm that this HX750 is dead? It was working perfectly last night! Is there any method to test the PSU, other than trial and error? I have got an old multimeter to measure voltages, ohms, etc.. If the PSU is dead, why all the fans are spinning? |

But try reconnecting the old PSU, sometimes just the act of totally powering down for a while and back up fixes things and nothing is more total power cycle like removing the PSU completely. You could short out the green wire on the 24 pin connector to one of the black ones to force the PSU on and measure voltages, but to test it properly you really need a load and Ideally an oscilloscope. If you test from the black wire to each of the other colours on each connector you should find +12V, +5V, +3.3V and on a few -12V, -5V 7555 |

| 1427328 | 2016-10-12 20:17:00 | OK.. Just checked the warranty receipt and Corsair site and that this HX750 carries a 7 years warranty. I bought this item from Computer Lounge on 19 Nov 2010. How do I go about to make a warranty claim? Corsair says contact the retailer. Will ring Computer Lounge later. |

| 1427334 | 2016-10-30 21:29:00 | Got the replacement unit back on last Tuesday but it's not the original model; was told that the original model (HX750) is out of production and they replaced it with a RM750i. They said this is the 'upgrade' model, is it? Anyway, installed the new PSU to my PC and it works fine -- very quiet, the fan is not spinning under normal load. However, I do notice that there's a 'Test Fan' button and a LED light above it, just out of curiosity, I pressed the test button but the fan doesn't seem to spin up, and the LED light doesn't light up, too. Nothing seems to happen! Nothing mention in the user manual. Anyone here using this Model of PSU who can share his/her experience with? |
