2016-08-29 21:08:00 | Friend of mine is going to Europe. I know she can buy a roaming pack (Spark) but I am wondering how it works if I txt her? Can I? Does it cost more?

2016-08-29 23:13:00 | My wife went to UK recently. Her phone was not set up any differently than usual and she was able to text me on the way from Hong Kong and then when she arrived in London and then at her destination near Londonderry. That was using Vodaphone. Nothing special was required, she just treated it as though she was at home. Easy peasy. I am not certain, but I think that the texts were more expensive - about double as I recall.

2016-08-30 01:18:00 | it will also use phone data if enabled and wifi is not The data cost for a Whatsapp text will usually be less that the 80c they will pay to send a text back to NZ. Maybe she should buy a SIM card when she gets there..

2016-08-30 02:15:00 | www.spark.co.nz "How much does it cost? If you're on a Prepaid plan sending a text message overseas costs 30c per message. If you're on a monthly plan, sending a text message overseas costs 20c per message." txting costs From overseas would be different "Texts you send while you are roaming will be charged at the applicable roaming rate" www.spark.co.nz

2016-08-30 06:17:00 | I got given a sim card with $20US on it from the tour company when I went to Palestine for a holiday a few months ago. It was British number had +44 then the number. I used it quite a few times to text NZ just had to remember to put +64 and what ever code for the country you are in to ring that number. I used it a few times in in Palestine when I got lost from the tour group etc. and a bit in isrel. Its still got $9.00 US on it. If that is any help. Also my S3 fone had a spare slot for the sim card and the NZ one stayed put but beware roaming charges on the NZ sim card.
