1427486 2016-10-17 02:34:00 That last one was an attempt to upgrade Ubuntu from 12.04 to 14.04 which, as I mentioned earlier version updates don't always go well.

Exactly, which is why my policy has always been "If the bloody thing isn't broken don't fix it!"

Which I hope explains why I get so pi..ed off when some uninvited sod goes right ahead and does just that and the inevitable happens.

1427487 2016-10-17 03:16:00 B.M. What do you actually use W10 for? Do you really need it now you have your new Mint toy. If W10 is such a dog for you why not just forget about it and live a happy life with Mint! Bryan (147)
1427488 2016-10-17 03:48:00 If W10 is such a dog for you why not just forget about it and live a happy life with Mint!

Because there is a principle involved.

If you don’t understand let me know and I’ll explain.

1427489 2016-10-17 04:06:00 Is this thread going to be as long as the other one. Driftwood (5551)

Which other one?

Why does it matter?

1427491 2016-10-17 05:15:00 I would say nearly all the problems people have is when a system is upgraded to Windows 10 from hardware that originally had Vista /Win 7

All the hardware that was made well before Windows 10 needs patching, new drivers with some unable to work at all

If you are having problems with your HP,Dell,Sony,Compaq or whatever, there will be others having problems as well if you go looking

1427492 2016-10-17 06:14:00 Both our homebuilt PCs, identical hardware except CPU one upgraded from 8.1 and has not one single issue, the other upgraded from 7 needed a reinstall to get Eset and a couple of other things to run gary67 (56)
1427493 2016-10-17 06:28:00 The only thing that is never ending is BM's intense dislike of MS & Win 10. :)

I would suggest that if you are in the tiny minority who constantly have a problem with Win 10 that it is more likely to be something to do with you rather than the operating system being used.

Yep, that’s like saying next time you go to get Petrol:

I’m sorry Sir we only sell Avgas now.

Your car will need to be re-tuned and may not run at all.

If you are having trouble with your Ford, Holden, Toyota, Mazda or whatever there will be others having problems too if you go looking.

Can’t see that winning favour with the Motoring Public frankly. :D
