| 1427807 | 2016-11-01 00:44:00 | rang vodafone up a few days ago after they started laying fiber outside my house. was told i'd get 100 credit if i wasn't connected within 3 days. a few moments later they tried to renege after it turns out i can't be connected for several weeks/months. pfft, a few months . :) 2019 before I can get fiber , and Im pretty sure fibre has allready been laid down the street. good score on the $100 credit though . |

| 1427808 | 2016-11-01 05:51:00 | i've got a tplink archer c2 AC750; what sort of performance should i expect? They have a single-core 720mhz CPU, same as the TL-WR1043ND v2 / v3 I've benchmarked 160mbps NAT throughput, from WAN -> LAN throughput on Gargoyle, so... If you're gonna go faster than 100mbps (Even a 200/200 plan) don't bother, it won't hold up. They don't even get anywhere near Gigabit when in WiFi -> LAN bridge-mode either... You'll want to get yourself an Archer C7 in WiFi -> LAN bridge-mode and use something else for the PPPoE / NAT side. I've opted for a Ubiquiti EdgeRouter-X myself, they'll easily handle a Gigabit connections NAT. I ran this as a second speedtest, while my first speedtest was still "uploading" www.speedtest.net (So it's full-duplex transfer speeds there, at the start of "peak" timing of the evening) Basically get the same sorts of speeds to Sydney / California too :) |
