Its just comical and funny reading all the dribble and seeing how wrong he is. Proof being the last comment in previous post. Which I will love to hear the real answer, or will it be just excuses or more false statements. The comment: . The bottom line is all these computers were all working fine prior to the one thing they had in common, a DUD update! If it were a dud update, then it would effect EVERY W10 PC world wide. The question: Why if the updates are duds did they only effect some computers and not others ? Would appreciate an intelligent reasonable answer Please. |

| 1427300 | 2016-10-13 01:29:00 | @B.M. If computers run like crap it is mostly because they are loaded with many PUPs or worse. I presume you ran Malwarebytes and ADWCleaner or similar to check this? You never need Ccleaner to run a successful windows machine. Explain what that 'junk' was doing to slow the load time. I suppose 20GB of photos would load it down as well. You are also mistaken in saying win 10 won't run well with 2GB RAM. It will run surprisingly well on 2GB. I have an old comp running win 10 pretty impressively on 2GB. It uses 48% RAM sitting doing nothing and went up to 56% when simultaneously running Chrome and Libre Office Writer. It also boots to the desktop in 55 sec. Signed, one of the millions of people running win 10 perfectly happily on a variety of hardware plus supporting many others also running win 10 with no problems. |

Let me see, could it be because there are many different drivers, for many different computers, and Microsoft's Generic drivers don't cut it with a large number of computers . I'm surprised I had to explain that . |

All the manufactures that wish to have Windows 10 using their hardware, are meant to be supplying drivers to MS . A lot of the drivers that are installed are supplied by vendors/Manufactures . So if the manufacture has not tested fully on their hardware whose fault is that ? The generic drivers like the ones that are installed during a new install are Microsofts . If The generic drivers don't work then you get an explanation mark or unknown device . Good example is if you install W10, the graphic drivers show as "basic" Its not till any updates go in that the manufactures drivers download and install, nvidia, Intel, AMD etc . |

An interesting Post linw so lets address some of the points you raise . @B . M . If computers run like crap it is mostly because they are loaded with many PUPs or worse . I presume you ran Malwarebytes and ADWCleaner or similar to check this? Yes, I am aware of that and and the report from the mate is that his is a least going after I did some housekeeping but is still slower to what it was prior to the last update . Id like to have been able to spend a bit more time on it but he needed it quite urgently . You never need Ccleaner to run a successful windows machine . Explain what that 'junk' was doing to slow the load time . I suppose 20GB of photos would load it down as well . Well I suppose technically you can clean up all the rubbish yourself like History, Temps of all sorts, cookies . . . . . . . . . . . . . . but letting Ccleaner attend to it is a hell of a lot simpler . Youll have to explain how 20gig of photos sitting in a folder would load anything but the HDD and then only if addressed . You are also mistaken in saying win 10 won't run well with 2GB RAM . It will run surprisingly well on 2GB . I have an old comp running win 10 pretty impressively on 2GB . It uses 48% RAM sitting doing nothing and went up to 56% when simultaneously running Chrome and Libre Office Writer . It also boots to the desktop in 55 sec . Well general consensus of opinion, including Wainuis, is that 2GB RAM is insufficient and whilst I have no doubt it will work, after all I have seen it working, but I can imagine the HDD being less than impressed with all the writing to the Page File . :D Signed, one of the millions of people running win 10 perfectly happily on a variety of hardware plus supporting many others also running win 10 with no problems . You werent one of THESE ( . thurrott . com/windows/windows-10/76719/microsoft-broken-millions-webcams-windows-10-anniversary-update" target="_blank">www . thurrott . com) people then . A Month or so ago Id have been on your side because I was quite happy with Win 10 . Everything was working fine, but then along came this Anniversary update and stuffed everything . Maybe you should check and see if you have it . ;) |

Yes I am aware, but that doesn't explain why, in every case I've struck, the answer has been just install the Win7 driver, it works fine in Win10 . Beats me why when they have a proven driver that worked well in Win7 and they knew it worked in Win10, they chose to change it . |

If its something like a new piece of hardware, then that's understandable, but then theres the question of how far back do they make drivers compatible. Its like some new motherboards, you cant get XP Drivers for them from the manufactures. Example Gigabyte GA-B150M-D3H |
