| 1427238 | 2016-10-28 23:16:00 | Just having another look at this upgrade. Thought I'd price it up. So looking at the Z170 with i7-6700k Processor is easy enough. Motherboard not so. Asus Z170-Pro or Pro Gamer? Quite a difference in price. Next dilemma is which memory speed. Quite a range supported. Any views or opinions appreciated. |

| 1427239 | 2016-10-29 03:58:00 | Memory will never be your bottleneck for speed, when it comes to gaming, not even worth giving a second thought. SSD and GPU matters WAY more. Same for the motherboard, just get a cheap one with enough RAM slots for what you want. Not likely to need a second PCI-e 16x slot, so don't worry about looking for anything fancy like that. Also make sure you get a CPU Cooler, not all come with one. |

| 1427240 | 2016-10-29 07:10:00 | Thanks Chill. Already have a cooler & two SSD's. May update GPU later. Will most likely go for the Z170 Pro Gamer. Just the memory speed to figure out. Mobo specs state 2133 MHz up to 3400 MHz but 2133 is the only one without OC after it. So I am assuming it will run at 2133 unless overclocked. Would this be correct? |
