1425293 2016-09-03 20:33:00 I use my Nexus 9 tablet and Chromecast with a Samsung TV bought in 2012 which started out as a smart tv, but shortly thereafter turned out to be effectively no longer a smart TV as 2012 was the cut off year for a lot of features and they have gradually been removed by Samsung.

However, Chromecast works well for us with both Netflix and Lightbox. YouTube not so good.

Mind you, I do have a wireless charger.

1425295 2016-09-04 09:28:00 I just used my laptop today to Chromecast a Choice TV on Demand programme for the first time. It worked OK but I had to install the Chrome browser first - Firefox doesn't work. So there is another option if your cell battery is always flat. I don't think it is quite as convenient as a tablet. 1425299 2016-09-05 00:23:00 Hi guys. My son has just bought a new Sony smart TV with Netflix built in. It is brilliant! So I am looking to get a Netflix subscription and cancel our Sky Movies channel, but there is a problem. Our Sony is not smart, nor is our DVD Blue-ray player unless connected by wire. So are my options either a Chromecast or Roku device? Which is better? Is there another way to solve the problem?

I just use my DVD Blu-Ray (smart tv too) to watch Netflix haven't bothered with the phone App at this time. Although Chromecast is awesome for YouTube and the likes. Great selection for when their is nothing on Freeview but they really need to add more titles to the NZ Netflix. Also I need the latest season of Arrow, Gotham etc. Cheaper alternative to Sky Movies without having to watch the same movies over and over for a month. Now I just need a NetSport and my mancave will be complete :D :banana
