| 1424774 | 2016-08-23 02:08:00 | I am a steam train enthusiast and love watching videos of steam trains but there are many steam train videos from America which ruin the soundtrack with the ringing of a bell. It's infuriating and has put me off watching American steam train videos. :( But why do they have a bell? I have noticed that they only seem to ring the bell while they are in the railway yards, not out on the main line. Why not? Or more to The point, why do they need to have a bell at all? And why don't any other countries have bells on their locomotives? |
