| 677268 | 2008-06-10 11:26:00 | I would like to change the name that is displayed in front of the subject line of the emails that I send, e.g. "John Smith". I have tried every way I can think of to change it, in both Windows Live Mail and Outlook 2007, all to no avail. Is there some setting panel in Windows itself where I can change the name? I am running Windows XP. Thanks in advance. |

| 677273 | 2008-06-13 08:04:00 | In general, the "From" name can be set by either the email headers or whatever name is saved against the email address in your Contact/Address Book, the last taking priority I'm sure. Check if your email address has been saved to your Contacts with a different first/last name. |

There is a box there marked "Your Name" Are you not able to change the name there to what you want, or do you change the name and it does not retain it. Are you clicking on Next at the bottom and then finish after you make the change. |
