| 676761 | 2008-06-09 07:25:00 | My wife, who uses XP SP2 wanted to transfer a file from my Mac OSX 10.4.11, plugged in the external WD Passport, and half way through the transfer the Mac reported that she had removed the HDD and the file may be corrupted. Now the fun begins...no comp in the house will now recognize the drive. When I plug it into the Mac it doesn't appear on the desktop, but it shows up in the "About this Mac " menu..?? So my question is..how do i get this drive to show up in either OSX or XP ? |

Virus scanned all computers this drive has been connected to, all clear. May be the drive is dead ? But the mac sees it, just won't mount it ?? Head scratcher ! |

The system wouldnt boot (it said some SMART error on the post screen), when it was connected either. So I removed it, and chucked it in the bin |
