Click on the view tab. Under Hidden Files and Folders Make sure the Show hidden files and folders button is selected. Click OK. Then browse to C:\Documents and Settings\yourusername\Local Settings\Application Data\Identities\somelongfilename\Microsoft\Outlook Express If there is more than one folder with a massive file name, check in OE under Tools/Options/Maintainence/Store folder and compare the file names. Delete the Sent Items.dbx file. This will remove everything in the sent items folder. Then open OE, it will re-create the sent items.dbx file, and hopefully it will now work properly |

| 676489 | 2008-06-09 02:18:00 | Righto, Just so you all know. The PC is a brand new build, Virgin install of XP SP2. (all by me) Delivered to John on Saturday Just had a look at her, Crap is failing all over the place for reasons I can't yet pinpoint, Installers broken, registry seems to be corrupt, As described above there is nothing displayed in sent items yet the count of sent items meant to be displayed is correct. Gone through a number of scenarios to fix the damage and none had any effect. Its safe to say I'm pretty impressed, No doubt so is John. Lmao. Anyway, Running out of time I started system restore to the date when I delivered the PC, So, we shall see.... |

| 676492 | 2008-06-09 02:30:00 | Aha!! :( Refer to this (pressf1.pcworld.co.nz) thread. (Not same issue, but same kinda thing). I've had this type of issue with AVG 8.0 Do the system restore. Make sure it's gone and put Avast or AntiVir on there, see if that helps. If it's still messed up, I have a fix, hopefully it won't need to go that far. |
