2008-12-07 06:37:00 | In my computer, the drive is called DVD/CD-RW, and i have DVD-RW discs, is that my problem? And SP1 can fix that? Sorry, i just realized that was the name of my drive, probably relevant...

2008-12-07 06:40:00 | I wouldnt bother with RW blanks. Use + or - DVDR's Since depending on what youre going to put it in, it probably wont play or read it If CD drive appears in computer, or whatever its called thats normal Once you put a blank cd / dvd in

2008-12-07 06:44:00 | I already had Sp1...lol So my discs are useless?? If there's a way to use them i'd like to know, College kid and all strapped for cash, and i've got 10 of 'em with 4.7 GB on each, it's a lot of storage space to throw away... I really appreciate any help.

2008-12-07 06:48:00 | Well no theyre not useless, but if theyre RW, you may have to reformat them WHAT exactly are you going to use RW's for? And WHAT exactly are you trying to copy / burn to the RW/s? The only thing RW, will be useful for is data / exe files you want to keep maybe Thats about it

2008-12-07 06:51:00 | Anything, pictures, programs. I've only got an 80GB hard-Drive, was going to move some stuff onto discs so i wouldn't have them clogging up space on my cpu... I can't even begin to use them because my cpu doesn't think they're even there...

2008-12-07 06:58:00 | How can i reformat them? When my drive doesn't think they're there... There's cpu labs on campus i could try to use...

2008-12-07 07:01:00 | Umm, youre not trying to copy programs that have been installed already are you? Because, it wont work later (unless you burn the install file/s to cd / dvd) If Nero and CDburnerXP say the RW's arent writable, you'll have to format it / them From within one of them. Then use one of the options in one of them I would still use dvdr's or cdr's. And dont FORMAT either if youre planing on using Nero or whatever. The program will do it for you. If you use the right option in it

2008-12-07 07:14:00 | Every option there was, to erase, format, everything it still said there was no disc in the drive... | SpartanEngineerAstronaut (9872) | |
2008-12-07 07:30:00 | Well the burner must be stuffed or something Try another dvd just dont format it And if that doesnt work get DVDR's instead
