| 403528 | 2005-11-16 20:22:00 | Alrighty, After uninstalling my steering wheel I have a more positive view. The music is god awful. The car physics are non-exsistent, even the earlier games were better in this regard, why go backwards and dumb it down so much? No in car view No stunt cam or replays that I could find (again, this was implemented in earlier games in the series) Graphics are flashy to the point of being over the top (This is personal preference, Some may love the look) yet the detail of the models and scenery isn't particulary good um...The positive... After removing my wheel from the system I was able to run the game at full detail with a fair whack of AA and AF and still had a playable framerate. Game provides frantic arcade action which is what it is designed to be. Its in Daylight, I didn't see any of the Vista's of earlier games but im sure they will be there. Cars are no longer ricers, Its back to cars that don't suck, That said the cars are in no way related to their real world counter parts. I was able to beat the AI while using a KB, this is a minus for me but does mean that a 4 year could make progress in the game, doesn't seem to require any skill at all. The other issue I have, This doesn't look anything like the screenshots I have seen.... I may buy it when its down to $10, I like some throw away arcade meyhem, But that depends on them fixing the wheel issue. All driving demo's I have tried do not let you use the steering wheel only the keyboard and if you are lucky J/S which this demo dose. Again as this is only a demo you well not get all the views. You useally find game play level set to easy as I beat the clock racing through the toll gates 3rd time useing J/S. I would say that the cars handling can be changed in the full game. Trevor :) |

The games handling is defined by its physics engine, and there just isn't one, you can take any corner anyway you want without it ever acting in anyway related to a car of ant type travelling at any speed, then you can bounce off....well, anything and everything at 200km/h.... Internal viewpoints have been missing from at least the last 3 NFS games, this is because it takes extra time to model the interior, they dont do just to save time and money. Granted it is an arcade game so a simplistic driving experience is expected, but they had a better driving model in earlier games, Its regression. The problem is that they take shortcuts in every area and then just dress it up with fancy graphics and lighting effects, The rest of the game is missing. |

Cross Racing Championship Richard Burns Rally Indy Car series Dirt Track Racing 1 and 2 Rallisport Challenge Thats just off teh top of my head, they all had wheel suport in the demo, and nearly all of them are quite recent . Instead of .... it should say your graphics card. |
