403238 2005-11-10 20:34:00 Hi guys,
Do you guys all have the ticker running? I am curious as to whether you notice the same problem with our site, http://computerworld.co.nz

The browsers seem to react differently to the javascript "ticker" code.

403239 2005-11-10 22:03:00 I get about 95% CPU usage on the new TV3 site but that is on quite an old computer (800MHz G4, GeForce 2MX etc). While some elements of the site look as though they aren't as quick as they should be it doesn't really affect anything else on my computer and as I never normally have the CPU monitor open it really doesn't bother me.

On the ComputerWorld site it jumps to about 60% every time a new headline pops up and drops back to about 20% after a short period and then repeats. Once again, not really a problem as you don't actually notice it.

403241 2005-11-10 22:46:00 when did i become a linux person? :illogical Metla (12)
403242 2005-11-10 23:00:00 I get the initial spike the it's ok, but with slight jumps when mousing over or clicking menus. The scrolling is jerky and the flash to the top right takes an age to load, uh oh!, just waved the mouse over the links on the left below the calender and up she shoots to around the 80-100% mark. No lock up though.

Will try it in Linux later.

The browsers seem to react differently to the javascript "ticker" code.I have the ticker running. Viewing that website and clicking around it has little reaction, just normal I would say. Mad zooming around with the mouse causes a nice CPU spike which drops immediately after I stop doing that.

Just the TV3 site which causes that reaction for me.

403246 2005-11-11 13:01:00 Running opera 9.0

Don't have the problem your having. My computer went from 2% to 50% then back to 6% in about 4 seconds.

Nothing wrong loading the page.Takes less then 20 seconds to load using dialup.

At first the layout was a bit strange.I could scroll to the right and he page would end up being on the left but somehow after loading a few times.Opera relign itself and I can't scroll to the right anymore. The page fits on an exact 1 page

403247 2005-11-11 19:45:00 Just had a look at the new site. What do you think of the layout of it ?
The text is too small for me. and what is with the colours changing when you
select a programme.

Comments.
