| 403228 | 2005-11-10 08:43:00 | Hi all :) Just curious how other people find the new TV3 website www.tv3.co.nz behaves with their browsers. I was looking at it the other day and noticed that before long Firefox locked up and my system went all laggy. Just been looking at it again and had the same thing happen. CPU jumps to 99% and my CPU temp went up 15 deg C to 54 deg C. Soon as I closed that page, everything returns to normal. So I viewed the home page under Konqueor, Opera and Mozilla. All of them caused the CPU to hit between 40-90% and the temperature to rise again. Just asked a friend using XP and IE and they commented that the CPU was spiking a bit when viewing that page as well. Anyone else seeing this? I was going to give them feedback on how their program details vertical scrollbar behaves really jerky under Firefox but as my system gets itself wound up after just viewing their page, this is proving a tad difficult. :p |

But in IE I dont have that problume? So it look like there something on there new site that does not like Firefox or firefox does not like it :( |

| 403234 | 2005-11-10 11:47:00 | Here (silvertech.co.nz) is what I see, I had to race the mouse all over the menus to keep the CPU usage high, never crashed though. | Rob99 (151) | ||
| 403235 | 2005-11-10 17:36:00 | Interesting mix of responses to that page. Do those that get little CPU reaction to that page use any special filters? I know Metla is a fan of Proxomittron. While I wasn't racing the mouse over the page to get the CPU spike, it does lock up Firefox after I have been trying to use the program details scroll bar (the one which scrolls very jerky. Just sitting on the main page viewing it is enough to get the cycles up. Haven't seen (or noticed) this sort of reaction on other websites. Very strange. |
