677552 2008-06-11 08:54:00 Hi All...Setting up my new computer.
I have two mail accounts with Orcon & can send & recieve with both.

I also have a Gmail account & am trying to get this to forward to OE. I have printed off the instructions to no avail.
One thing puzzles me. On the Google instructions, I am to use POP3.googlemail.com. & yet previously I have used POP3.gmail.com.
Emails go into the gmail Inbox but will not transfer. What am I missing, please? PJ

677553 2008-06-11 09:31:00 I'm not sure which instructions you are using but it should be POP.gmail.com.

Here are the instructions from Google:
mail.google.com

Have you considered using IMAP? It syncs both ways unlike POP3:
mail.google.com

677554 2008-06-11 09:33:00 Are you using port 465 for outgoing and port 995 for incoming??

Incoming server should be pop.gmail.com and outgoing / smtp server should be smtp.gmail.com

I just tried it in OE it worked fine with pop.gmail.com

677556 2008-06-11 19:49:00 Imap seems to be causing all sorts of problems for my son, when he set up his business email through gmail it only gave him the option of imap and not pop3, we use outlook 2003. Imap only seems to work for him when it feels like it and he is going back to Pop3 when he gets time to change it over. gary67 (56)
