406189 2005-11-22 23:42:00 how can they PROVE the parcel was ever delivered ?...........they cant......its a straight breach of contract......they've been paid and accepted the job to deliver a parcel.....it hasn't got there......

Best not to confuse things by rehashing drcspy, issues like proof of delivery are self evident.

It is necessary to take a structured approach to get redress and I have set out a procedure and some options. That is sufficient for SA to get on with.

Cheers

406191 2005-11-23 06:19:00 I would also contact your seller and ask what was the last number connected to that phone. All cell phones have an ESN number and for anyone to reconnect it with Telecom or Vodaphone will have to give the ESN. Therefore if it's connected it can be called and traced and the person with it in possession can be taken down a long dark alleyway and ............. EX-WESTY (221)

The dealer was a TradeMe trader and hadn't noted the number. But are you sure that the ESN is tracable? Even with prepay>

406193 2005-11-23 07:51:00 Not sure about ESNm but with Vodafone it's an IMEI number. When my phone was stolen, they'd blacklisted the IMEI number within an hour or so.

This prevents it from connecting to the network, and will throw up flags if anyone takes it to a dealer to have it unlocked.

406194 2005-11-24 20:07:00 The next step is to move up a level of supervision and try with them. Keep going up the levels (ask to speak to their supervisor or the person they report to) until you reach somebody with the authority to deal with your complaint rather than just quoting rule books. Ask that question each time until you reach somebody who says yes.

Well I kept doing that until I got to Courier Post Executive level with all doors slamming shut. Then I jumpoed a couple of levels and emailled Trevor Mallard (Minister for State Owned Enterprises) with a CC to Jim Quinn (CEO Courier Post).

I got a phone call from Mr Quinn within a couple of hours who expressed his concern and said the whole whing sounded "bizarre". He has promised to get to the bottom of it and sort things out. Waiting for another call this morning.

406196 2005-11-24 21:29:00 i think its shocking our often they get away with stealing parcels. there has been a few courors caught with $1000's of stolen parcels, but most simply get pushed under the carpet.

also its amazing that they cannot be bothered to go back to the address they incorrectly dropped the parcel off at. so much for actually looking for lost parcels.
