677756 2008-06-12 06:21:00 Anyone know a free port forwarding software? mark1978 (13845)
677757 2008-06-12 06:24:00 Whats the model/brand of the modem, is it a modem only or modem/router? Speedy Gonzales (78)
677758 2008-06-12 06:43:00 Is this needed because you are behind an NAT router? If so, you need to set the port forwarding on the router. utopian201 (6245)
677759 2008-06-12 07:04:00 I have dial up download speeds and dont know what to do about it, someone reckond the program port forwarding but the modem is not in there list. It is a dynalink RTA1335 mark1978 (13845)
677760 2008-06-12 07:14:00 Well if this is the modem (www.dynalink.co.nz)

It should have port forwarding in its options. You dont need any software

Ring the ISP and ask them why the download speed is low

WHAT ISP did u you join?

677761 2008-06-12 07:19:00 I am with slingshot, I have called them and we checked everything but it seems to be fine, it is only the downloads that are superslow! the linetest was 329kb per second mark1978 (13845)
677762 2008-06-12 07:21:00 Could be where youre downloading the files / whatever from.

Other people have had probs, downloading files from overseas sites as well.

So is that your modem?
Speedy Gonzales (78)
677763 2008-06-12 07:25:00 yes it is my modem, utorrent is dial-up speed download and so is limewire, regardless if you download it from a user that has broadband or kabel mark1978 (13845)
677764 2008-06-12 07:33:00 All you have to do then is login into the modem/router go to the port forwarding option and add whatever ports.

You may have to change your ip to a static ip address. With some modems/routers, you have to do this, before you can use port forwarding.

Well sometimes torrents are slow, not much you can do about it.

Have you tried to download any files from any other site? Besides trying to get them by using torrents? It'll probably be faster than downloading a file using limewire

Did you tell Slingshot, the downloads are slow when you use limewire?
Speedy Gonzales (78)
677765 2008-06-12 07:36:00 To tell you the honest truth, no I did not say that I had trouble with Limewire, I downloaded Java as wel and this only went to 13kb....so it is al download sites mark1978 (13845)
