That fine white knight Sir Telstra, which we have all been waiting to rescue us from the clutches of the evil black Sir Telescum - has stumbled yet again. See www.stuff.co.nz No 3G network from Telstra. Now isn't that astonishing. We all know what a ripoff Telescum is and the huge ginormous super-profits it makes. Wouldn't you think Telstra would like a share of those profits??? Easy money. Even stranger was Telstra not taking up a major share in Woosh a couple of months ago. Wireless - has to be even easier money. Whats the problem? After all Telstra is at least 10 times the size of Telescum. :confused: |

| 404911 | 2005-11-17 03:24:00 | the problem? i suspect PROFIT ! its kinda hard to make profit when the market is allready dominated by others. even with teltras might it would mean spending huge amounts to make peanuts (remember a few million is peanuts to these guys). its much easier to make $$$ when YOU ARE the dominating comapny ;) | tweak'e (69) | ||

| 404913 | 2005-11-17 05:09:00 | Telstra are HUGE!!! I never really realised how big they were until I found out yesterday that they are going to lay off 12000 (www.ecommercetimes.com) people!!!!!! Telecom dont even have that many in total. Makes you wonder why they dont just buy out Telecom and become the one and only. I guess there must be some legislative restrictions or they just dont really give a **** about giving us 'choice', only making a profit from us. | sam m (517) | ||

Jees they have even sent me a cute wee sticker to put on my POBox to "show my support and be a winner" (of a noel leemings $500 go shopping voucher). Like um WOW, i better build a letterbox just so i can advertise who my telco is - not. No they're not pulling out, just not throwing good money after bad by trying to further build up a network in a country thats geographicly an underpopulated ***** with an allready taken client base. |
